I have decide to start a food diary. (Not in a weight loss way)
It is going to be about my vegetabletable juicing journey, being a pescetarian and life without processed sugar and chemicals.
So I begin: Day 1
Today I made my first veggie juice that consists of: 6 kale leaves, 1 cucumber, 4 celery stalks, 2 green apples, half a lemon and 1 piece of ginger.
Before I explain to you what the taste was like I would like to inform you about what is juicing.
Well I am not exactly sure about what it is, but my interpretation of it is that everyday you need a certain amount of vegetables, and we all know that this is going to be a large amount. So what juicing is meant to do is take that amount and put it in drink form. This cleanse’ the body and detoxifies it. There are other benefits of this, however, I wont bore you if you’re one of the people who is actually reading this.
Now to the fun part: THE TASTE
Right now I have just consumed my first juice that I explain earlier on. It was okay! it was pretty bad I have to say though but it’s drinkable, well in my opinion it was. Currently also, as I am a writing this, I am having chia seeds mixed with water. There is no taste, it is just water with a crunch.
My belief on this, however, is that I have eaten things in the past that have satisfied my taste buds (lollies, soft drink or soda etc.) but not my body internally. Now it is time to turn the tables and have my taste buds go above a beyond to satisfy my bodies cry for help. It wants to heal and that is what I am going to give it.
Life as a pescetarian.
What is a pescetarian? A pescetarian eats seafood, vegies, dairy etc. but not meat.
Why did I chose this? I hate the thought of an animal dying just so it can be my food. I mean I look at my cats and my dogs and go well what if someone wanted to kill you and then eat you. It makes me feel guilty and I hate that. People may say it is evolution and you are correct and also entitled to your opinion, however, we take advantage of the fact that humans are the most dominant species, we abuse our power all the time and I don’t want to be one of those people. What it really comes down to is what I want to do it is my body not yours, I am the one who is doing this and thats it.
I am really hungry and I have every reason to quit this and go eat some chocolate or chips, however, I am extremely determined, I have a goal and I am going to continue chasing it. That is to have my body have THE HEALTH IT NEEDS, and nothing is going to stop me. This is why I am doing this food diary so I can’t quit.
If you have any questions about this please ask away!
I have just been thinking about this for a long time. Every time I eat meat I just feel guilty, and you are probably thinking well why pescetarian and not Vegetarian, isn’t fish a meat of some kind.
You’re right if you are thinking that and I might become vegetarian, I am thinking about, however, I am not going to dive straight into it, I am going to ease myself into it.
What I am actually going to start doing is juicing as I saw this video in health and it just really inspired me. You can watch the trailer here
The video is called ‘Hungry for change’ and it’s all about dieting and how it is stupid. It is also about the chemicals in foods, sugar etc. I recommend you watch it and I am not doing it to lose weight, in fact I think trying to lose weight at this age is just stupid unless you actually need to because you’re overweight. But yea it is really inspiring, here is the trailer to another video called fat, sick and nearly dead
I am also starting to listen to meditation music as you can see on my blog, and you may think that is lame but I am proud of who I am and that is all that matters.
Anyway I just thought I would share that with you all
